Your LumosClock, step by step.

Everything you need to hang it, power it, set it and keep it looking new. If anything here is unclear, write to us.

In the box

  • The clock — 46 × 38 × 3 cm, matte black.
  • A flush wall mount.
  • A 12V power adapter — cable in white or black, as chosen when ordering.
  • This manual.

If you ordered the Tablestand option, it is packed separately.

Hanging it on a wall

The flush wall mount is included. The power cable exits from the bottom of the clock, so leave a little room underneath for the adapter lead.

The clock is readable from ten metres, which means eye level or slightly above suits most rooms.

Standing it on a table

A solid table stand is available as the Tablestand option on the product page — it is not something added at checkout. If you did not order one and would like one, write to us.

Power

The clock runs on the included 12V adapter. There are no batteries to replace: it needs mains power to show the time and light the LEDs.

A small internal battery keeps the time running while the clock is unplugged, so when you plug it back in it shows the correct time again — no resetting required.

Running cost is around €3 of electricity a year.

The four buttons

All the controls sit at the side of the clock. No app, no Wi-Fi. What buttons 1 and 2 do depends on the mode set by button 3.

  1. Button 1 — in brightness & colour mode, adjusts the brightness; in minutes mode, counts the minutes down; in hours mode, counts the hours down.
  2. Button 2 — in brightness & colour mode, cycles the LED colour tone (white, warm white, yellow, orange, light blue, dark blue, green); in minutes mode, counts the minutes up; in hours mode, counts the hours up.
  3. Mode selector — cycles through the three modes: brightness & colour, minutes, and hours.
  4. Light sensor — turns automatic brightness on or off. When on, the clock reads the room and dims itself softly at night.

Setting the time

  1. Press button 3 once to switch from brightness mode to minutes mode. Use button 1 to count the minutes down, or button 2 to count them up.
  2. Press button 3 again to switch to hours mode. Use button 1 to count the hours down, or button 2 to count them up.
  3. Press button 3 a third time to return to brightness mode.

There is no automatic summer and winter changeover. Twice a year you adjust it by hand, which takes a few seconds.

Reading the time

The words show the time in five-minute steps, and the four dots in the corners add the exact minutes on top.

At 10:14, the clock reads TEN PAST TEN plus four dots — together, 10:14.

The brightness sensor

With auto-brightness switched on (button 4), the clock reads the light in the room and dims itself softly at night. If you prefer a fixed level, switch it off and set the brightness yourself with button 1.

Care

  • Unplug it first.
  • Use a dry or barely damp microfibre cloth on the face.
  • No solvents, no abrasives, and never spray liquid directly onto the clock.

The matte finish hides fingerprints well, but it does show dust — an occasional wipe keeps it looking new.

If something isn’t right

Nothing lights up
Check that the adapter is fully seated at both ends and that the socket is live. If the clock is powered but dark, the brightness may be at its lowest setting — press button 1 to raise it.
The display is too bright at night
Switch on auto-brightness with button 4. The clock will then read the room and dim itself when the light drops.
The time is wrong after a power cut
The internal battery normally keeps the time through a power cut. If the clock has come back with the wrong time, set it again with the mode selector (button 3) and buttons 1 and 2.
The colour will not change
Button 2 only cycles the colour while the clock is in brightness & colour mode. Press the mode selector (button 3) until you're back in that mode, then try again.
